There are many Ramen restaurants in Amsterdam, so it can be a little bit confusing. I think there must be people who are keen on eating Ramen for the first time in Amsterdam, and are thinking about where they should go ! The restaurant I will introduce this time is recommended for Ramen beginners! I always go there when I’m in the mood for some delicious, standard Japanese Ramen.
SORA Sapporo Ramen
Sapporo Ramen Sora is a chain that has got two locations in Amsterdam. One is in De Pijp and the other is in the west. Both locations have the same menu.
The restaurant in De pijp is always crowded, so we recommend going early! Please note that neither restaurant accept reservations!
What kind of Ramens…

Traditionally, Ramens from Sapporro are miso based. But at Sora, you can enjoy a wide variety of Ramens (Soy sauce, salt, chicken paitan, tonkotsu…)

I always order a Miso Ramen there. The soup is very rich and full of miso flavours. Although the chashu is thick and looks simple, but it is truly filling.

The noodles are curly yellow noodles, which are unique to Sapporo region. They are boiled just right, and you’ll get the same quality of Ramen every time you go there. Apparently, the noodles are also made in Sapporo (Japan). I’d say that one of the strong selling point of this place is the quality of the noodles they serve.
Isn’t there only Ramens ?

As I have already written, their Ramens are delicious, but you can also enjoy some side dishes.
The gyozas are nice, but the kushikatsu (japanese fried skewers) is my favourite. They recently started to sell it, and it was delicious, so I highly recommend it!
A system that gives you great deals if you go a lot

Point cards are very common in Japan, but you don’t see them very often in the Netherlands or Europe.
You can get a point card created when you pay. The staff will give you one stamp each time you eat Ramen. Once you have enough stamps, you can eat a bowl of Ramen for free !

I recommend this system because it gives you a reason to go and it’s always nice to save money!
They started new DIY Ramen kit
Recently, they started something called DIY Ramen kit ! You can enjoy Sora’s Ramen at home! ! More specifically, 3 types of Ramen are included for 20 euros. One meal costs just around 6 euros ! ! ! You have no choice but to try it !! Order it here!!

Of course I bought it too, so I’d like to try making it later and write about it on my blog!
