Top Ramen Spots in Amsterdam 2025 – A Local Guide

A personal guide to the top ramen shops you actually want to slurp at.

If you’re looking for the best ramen in Amsterdam, you’re in the right place.
I’m Naoko, a Japanese ramen blogger based in the Netherlands.
After eating at nearly every ramen shop in the city (yes, seriously), here’s my personal list of the best bowls Amsterdam has to offer in 2025.

This list is based on:
• Taste (broth + noodles + toppings = balance!)
• Consistency (visited more than once)
• Uniqueness or authenticity
• Service and overall vibe

Note: I paid for every bowl myself – no sponsorships here 🍜

1. Fukuramen – Ever-changing, always incredible

Every time you visit, the menu changes. But every single bowl hits.
My No.1 favorite – especially their Shio and Shoyu Ramen. Sunday walk-in ramen is great too, but in my opinion, dinner is where it’s at.

They are almost always fully booked, but if you are flexible, I recommend checking their Instagram Stories for last-minute cancellations. That is how I usually get in.

On Sundays, you have two good options. First, go around 12:30 before they open and wait about 30 minutes. You will likely get into the first seating. Second, go around 3pm, when the first round of guests is finishing up. It is often easier to get a seat at that time. Outside of those times, it really depends on the day. From my experience, the wait can be quite long.

2. Ramen-Ism & Impossible – Chicken paitan meets soy magic

Shoyu ramen from Ramen-Ism

Their shoyu ramen is my favorite. The sharp soy sauce flavor makes it a truly unique bowl.

Honestly, the chef here changes the soup all the time. Even if it’s called shoyu ramen, the base broth is different almost every time. But no need to worry. Every version I have tried has been delicious, so just go and enjoy it.

3. Vatten Ramen LABO Plantage –  Possibly the richest tonkotsu ever

Rich tonkotsu ramen at Vatten Ramen

They recently started serving Tonkotsu ramen on Mondays only. It is seriously rich, with a thick and ultra-creamy animal-based broth. If you love heavy, bold ramen, this one is a must. This is the real deal, just like the one would find in Japan.

That’s it for now. These are three ramen shops in Amsterdam that I truly recommend. I go back to each of them regularly. Each one has its own character, from ever-changing bowls to seriously rich tonkotsu. And yes, there are more places I want to share, so stay tuned for part two.
