Authentic Jiro-Style Ramen in Berlin – A Must for Ramen Fans

When most people think about Jiro-style ramen, they picture massive bowls of noodles and toppings, rich pork broth, and an overall “heavy” eating experience that leaves you full for hours. It’s not the kind of ramen you expect to find outside Japan—let alone in Germany.

But to my surprise, there’s a shop here serving its own take on Jiro-style ramen, and as a ramen lover, I couldn’t resist checking it out.

First Impressions

The moment I stepped inside, the aroma already felt familiar and comforting—exactly the kind of scent that makes your stomach growl before the bowl even arrives. Expectations were high, and this place did not disappoint.

The Ramen Bowl

The bowl came fully loaded: bean sprouts, cabbage, pork back fat, and even a slice of cheese on top. I had never tried cheese with Jiro-style ramen before, but it blended surprisingly well with the broth.

The soup itself was pork-based with a deep soy sauce flavor—rich and flavorful, yet without any unpleasant heaviness or odor. Even with the back fat, it somehow remained light and easy to drink.

The Noodles

The chewy homemade noodles were another highlight. They had just the right bite and clung to the broth beautifully. You can even buy them to enjoy at home 400g for just €5. Of course, I couldn’t resist and took some with me!

A More “Elegant” Jiro-Style

What struck me most was how approachable this version of Jiro-style ramen felt. It kept all the iconic elements—garlic, richness, volume—while being refined and light enough that even locals unfamiliar with the “heaviness” of Jiro ramen could enjoy it. For me, it felt like an elegant twist on a style that’s usually bold and overwhelming.

Final Thoughts

This was one of the most enjoyable bowls of Jiro-style ramen I’ve had outside Japan. Delicious, unique, and perfectly balanced, it’s proof that even such a distinctly Japanese ramen style can adapt and thrive abroad.

If you ever find yourself in Germany craving a bold yet refined ramen experience, this spot is absolutely worth the visit.
