Hello I am Ramenko

Hello ! I am currently living in Amsterdam. When I don’t eat Ramens, I do some video editing for YouTubers and a bit of marketing. Eating and cooking Ramen is something I hold dear and I would like to share it with you.

How I started

As far as I can remember, I’ve always had a weird passion for Ramens.  At some point, I decided to move to Europe and realised that good Ramens were not easy to come by there. Despite truly enjoying living there, I was missing Japanese Ramens a little bit.  I then decided to go Ramen hunting , and every time I traveled somewhere, I took on myself to try out the local Ramen shops.

In July 2021, I traveled to Krakow (Poland). I did not go there specifically to eat Ramen, I just wanted to visit the city and have some nice holidays in East Europe. During my time there, I found a nice Ramen restaurant called Akita Ramen. As goods Ramen shops are hard to find, I thought it would be nice to share on my instagram that Krakow had one to offer. I kind of enjoyed it and though it would be a fun hobby to share on instagram the places where I had the chance to eat a nice Ramen. This is how Ramenko started.

About my self

I was born and raised in Saitama prefecture, a place just north of Tokyo. When I was little, my parents brought me to the local Ramen shop of my home town many times over.  This is where I started to grow a huge taste for Ramens. As many  young Japanese from the country side, I then moved to Tokyo, where I  could experience so many different types of Ramens.

I truly enjoyed my time in Tokyo, but I wanted to see something else. Therefore, I moved to Ireland, then France and finally the Netherlands. Since I moved to Europe, I enjoy travelling to many different cities to check out their Ramen shops while I visit them. If I was at first missing the traditional Japanese Ramen styles, I gradually got more and more into Ramens with more European influences.

As for the name “Ramenko“, it is a contraction of my favourite food and the last syllable of my name, which is “ko” (子).

As I love all kind of Ramens, I always decide which one to eat depending on my mood.
