Authentic ramen restaurant in Amsterdam

I eat about 150 bowls of Ramen a year, so I’d like to introduce you to my favourites places in Amsterdam and the best items on their menus.

Ramen Fujitora in Albert Cuypstraat

Shio Ramen

Needless to say, I went there once a week for about a month after they opened. My favourite Ramen there is their “Shio Niboshi Ramen”. However, it does not yet appear on their carte as it is still a secret menu at the moment. The place seems to be very popular, so it’s best to make a reservation to ensure you can get seated, especially on the weekend.

Fuku Ramen in Oost

I also love Fuku Ramen and I go there about once a month. I especially enjoy dinner there and their “omakase courses” as you don’t have to decide for yourself. Plus, I really enjoy the course meals as I get to try a new menu every time I go. I really recommend this place for dinner as you can enjoy a Japanese fusion style cuisine and a Ramen, which are always very nice and delicate. Moreover, if you like alcohol, there are plenty of sake options to enjoy.

Kitchen Impossible in De Pijp

Sorry to keep you waiting, vegans! Many people think that being vegan cuts the enjoyment of Ramen in half. Don’t worry! Even vegans can enjoy delicious Ramen there! I especially recommend their “Tsukemen. It is so good that you would never guess it is plant-based unless someone tells you. Of course, this Ramen is also recommended for people who are not vegan.

Ramen Impossible in Centraal

When I’m near Centraal and feel like eating Ramen, I often go there even if I am on my own. Ramen restaurants come very handy as it’s easy for even one person to enter and get a seat. The recommendation there is the miso flavoured “Tosa Ramen“. Even though it’s vegan, it’s so good you won’t believe it is purely plant-based. It’s open from lunch to dinner, so you can go there whenever you like.

Vatten Ramen

I often go there when I’m in the mood for some “Tori Paitan”. At the moment, this is my favourite Tori Paitan in Amsterdam! The location is easy to get to, so I often go there, especially for lunch. It’s always crowded at dinner time, so it’s best to make a reservation. I especially like the seats by the windows as the view over the city is lovely. I find it great that you can eat while contemplating the canals that make Amsterdam so special. My favourite menu is their Vatten Ramen which is (no surprise) a Tori Paitan! I also recommend their homemade gyozas as a side dish !

Fou Fow Ramen in van Woustraat

I often go there for lunch when I’m around De Pijp and in the mood for Ramen. They actually have another location is Jordaan, but it is always crowded. The one in De Pijp is probably a little-known spot, so it’s not that busy ! My recommendations are their “Shio Ramen” or their “Chicken Lemon Ramen” as both have a refreshing taste and are nice. I especially like their chicken lemon ramen when it’s hot in summer.

Sapporo Ramen Sora in De pijp

I am usually not a huge fan of Miso Ramens, but there are times I feel like having some. In such cases, I go to Ramen Sora. In my opinion, this Miso Ramen stands out as you really get to enjoy the rich taste of Japanese quality Miso. My favourite item on their menu is their Gokujo Sapporo Kuro Miso Ramen. However, it can sometimes be crowded at dinner time and on the weekends.
